Planning

The Easter holidays can be a tricky time to plan for, with friends popping over and children off school, visits to family and good old British weather wreaking havoc on our plans. Worry not, there are plenty of things you can do to ensure that your tasty roasties or hot cross buns don’t go to waste.

Like Christmas, Easter is another time in the year when we eat and cook a little more than usual. However, it is also a time when more food also ends up in the bin! The main reason food is thrown away is because we buy or cook too much, forget to store food correctly and often don’t think of getting creative with leftovers and the freezer.

Leftovers

Despite the best planning, we can still find ourselves with leftovers.

If you’ve got cooked meat it can be enjoyed:

  • Cold, with pickles and salad

  • Turned into a delicious sandwich if you’re heading out for the day

  • No time to eat it straight away? Make sure you put it in the freezer, that way you can enjoy it another day!
