Doner kebabs
Bring the flavours of your favourite takeaway into your own kitchen with this budget-friendly homemade doner kebab recipe. These quick, oven‑baked doner kebabs are packed with bold spices, easy to prepare, and perfect for wrapping up with fresh salad in a warm tortilla.

Ingredients
350g minced lamb or beef
2 cloves of garlic – grated
½ tsp salt
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp oregano
Black pepper
Lettuce, cucumber, red onion and tomatoes – finely sliced
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
2. Place all the ingredients in a food processor and blitz until smooth.
3. Divide the mixture in half and shape each portion into a ball.
4. Put each ball between two sheets of greaseproof paper and roll out until very thin.
5. Place each one on a baking tray and remove the top layer of paper.
6. Place in the oven and cook for approximately 5 minutes.
7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a couple of minutes before slicing. 8.
To serve
Serve in a warm tortilla with the lettuce, cucumber, tomato and onion.
